A Small Dose of Glitz as literal as it can be -

is a small doze of sparkle

brought about by the small clear dewdrops

of translucent nature;

coupled by black pearl coloured shell

as a big centerpiece.

Lovely resin beads stained with

shades of marine blue & a Prussian blue freshwater pearl

were then added

to top off this mismatched glitzy pair that

measures 5cm & 6cm respectively.

I can't help it either!

Jason Mraz's Lucky kept playing in my head the whole evening,

and I was talking to him the whole time I was working on this pair of earrings.

UPCYCLED REDKEN Smooth down detangling cream series

No, this is not some product wooha over the Redken smooth down detangling cream, though this is really my favourite hair care product that I will bother to spend on!

This is a post on how I repurposed this bottle into accessories that will really wow you! I guess I can only do this much for the environment and I really hope that everyone will chip in together to reduce, reuse, recycle and recreate as much as possible! Please do show your support for my upcycled pieces, this will go a long way into encouraging me to repurposed them more!....

Upcycled handphone accessory cum pendant USD 7 (SGD 10.50)

You can still see half of the REDKEN print on the plastic,
I love how well the deep metallic brown goes well
with the white fonts (it will never fades!)
Topped it off with a white ribbon with gold trims,
and an emerald glass bead.

& this even doubles up as a necklace,
you just have to release the centerpiece from the clasp
& thread through the bunch with your own chain,
so neat!

The product will even come with a piece of pink board
that is also upcycled using a clean piece of facial mask packaging.

A rock chic piece of work!
Black chain & big gold lobster clasp.
Made with another piece of repurposed redken plastic reversed out this time
topped it off with a long clear plastic piece
and and and the neat mixed bead donut.
Not for any norm conformers.

s10 earrings SOLD & necklace set USD28 (S$42)

s10 stands for small 10, in chinese it means 小10. This is the name of the bus I took up to Maokong mountains in Taipei (near Muzha area). I was so amused by the name of the bus that it was one of the most memorable memory of the Maokong walkabout.

Like the scenic Maokong area, the earrings is given a touch of demure beauty - rose pink freshwater pearls, light amethyst Swarovski crystal beads & white beads were akin to the flowers seen on the mountain. Lush of green seen here in a floral shaped green czech bead. 5cm & 4cm respectively.

The s10 necklace was worked on using the same theme as the s10 earrings. The necklace is a simple long creation of 85cm with the centerpiece 4.5cm right at the bottom. A duet intricate floral filigree was used, with a large light amethyst faceted Swarovski crystals. Freshwater pearls and a white czech bead adorn each side of the necklace. The other major star had to be the vintage leaf clasp that sits at the end the necklace.

Wish to purchase only either the earrings or necklace?
s10 earrings is only at USD10 (S$15) while s10 necklace will be at USD 22 (S$33).

Domingo is a quaint little creation!

The pair of creation started off with the left side -

a white ribbon piece as a center piece

and the main character - grape pink round shell slice was added for

a yummy cherry touch.

Decided to up the stakes on 'fun & colourful' factor and

added in turquoise moonstones.

The right side was then complemented with the same turquoise & grape pink flavour.

5.4cm and 4.7cm respectively.

Hmm, if time permits, let your life be filled with fun and colours for a moment!
We all deserve it once in a while!

I started off with a focus of a big blossom pink moonstone,

an obviously bigger one on the right side,

well complemented by the white cloth swirl

& deep indigo faceted crystal.

After which, I created a rim of moonstones

using shades of pink and peach and black.

Finally, a electric purple round bead &

silver figure of eight filigree was added to each side.

DANSHUI is an old wharf area in the northern part of Taipei city,

a lovely area with a whole array of shops by the side.

I am missing Taipei already!

Named after such this picturesque area,

with a Celadon tear drop glass bead on each side,

coupled with a rim of seed beads in gold, old turquoise and cream white...

Pin, is both the blog manager and the jeweller.

She is a self-trained jewellery maker who started off dabbling in this craft with the sole intention to make presents for her friends. With plenty of kind support, her passion further took off in 2005 during her university school days when she began to peddle some sales of her own creations to fellow varsity mates. This blog was set up shortly afterwards to feature her creations for sale.

Simplicity and contrast are often reflected in her creations. Nonetheless, there are also dashes of quaintness or vintage at times... it all depends on her mood at that very moment and her daily interactions with the outside world. As every moment of life is special, each piece of creation will never be duplicated.

From 2008 onwards, she focuses a lot more on green jewellery crafting, and incorporates recycling as much as possible into her creations. She is a strong believer of reducing wastages for sustainability of the earth.

Pin also spends a ton of her free time reading up about zakka 杂物, which is another great form of art that allows her to create interesting household items with recycled items. She looks forward to sharing more of such crafts with everyone.

Travelling, books and music are also the other great loves of her life! A little secret she wishes to share: she hopes to settle down in Taiwan with her own minsu 民宿 & a lovely other half by late 40s.
